WHO WE ARE

The Portage la Prairie & District Chamber of Commerce has been supporting the needs and concerns of the Business Community in Portage & District since July 1886. That's when a group of business people joined together to form the Portage Board of Trade. They wanted a unified voice for the Business Community. And the Chamber has been advocating on behalf of the businesses since.

The role of the Chamber is to promote the progress and development of Portage la Prairie and District to make it the best place in which to live and to work. 

We develop and present informed views and opinions on behalf of the Chamber movement, to the municipal, Provincial and Federal Governments. 

We are a membership based organization with a dedicated Board of Directors, who sets the vision for the organization, and a full time Executive Director, that runs the day to day operations of the organization.
